25 September 2019 marked 101 years since the 11th Light Horse’s mounted Charge on Semakh. Angela Stanley and Ray Minniecon, whose ancestors Alexander Stanley and James Lingwoodock were part of the 11th Light Horse, attended the ceremony to honour their Grandfathers and all Indigenous diggers who served in WW1.

At the ceremony a very important statue was unveiled, depicting an Indigenous Light Horse soldier who fought in the Sinai-Palestine conflict during WW1, Jack Pollard. (Learn more about the statue Here.)
